There are a few spoilers ahead for those familiar with the Mango Bob series. In Bill H. Myers’ 15th Mango Bob book Mango Farm, aka the 2026 instalment this light mystery series, Walker has left Florida and his motor home. He now lives on a small farm in Arkansas and driving a van. Former FBI agent Maddie has moved in with him on a platonic basis.

Soon, Walker accidentally acquires a Cane Corso named Bruno and a weird goat named Alfie. A local young woman named Willow with many skills and much local knowledge befriends him and Maggie.

Walker, Maggie and Willow start investigating the many cases of pets kidnapped from the local gated community and then held for ransom. This does not please the locals. Maddie thinks this is a small link in a much bigger chain. She is right

Mango Farm is simply a fun read. No real violence, some common sense detecting, and solid and interesting characters (including the animals). This is the kind of book that delivers a pleasant time in your comfiest chair with your beverage of choice.

Having read a couple of the previous Mango Bob mysteries by Bill H. Myers, I can tell you that Myers is consistently good and entertaining.
