When stuck trying to figure out what to read next, I sometimes go to an author’s back catalogue. This is how I came across Those Who Wish Me Dead by Michael Koryta. Michael Koryta has proven to be a reliable go to if you want a well-written, interesting, and original thriller. That is exactly what Those Who Wish Me Dead on Kindle is.

Koryta opens with the trope of the young boy, in this case Jace Wilson, who witnesses a murder and must evade the bad guys. What happens next and after that is what makes Those Who Wish Me Dead an excellent read. Jace Wilson gets placed by an agent with Ethan Serbin. Serbin is a survivalism expert who runs a summer camp for trouble youths. The idea is that Jace Wilson will spend the summer there under the radar until everything blows over. He will need all he has learned to get through the summer.

Those Who Wish Me Dead works because the main character, fourteen year-old Jace Wilson is well-developped and grows as the story progresses. Also, the Blackwell brothers, the bad guys, are superb creations. No matter how many thrillers you have read, you have yet to come across a pair like this. This makes reading this thriller that much more intersting.

The ending will keep you turning the pages until the final reveal and it is one hell of a final reveal. Most important, the reveal is absolutely credible, no matter how stunning it may be.

If you want a guaranteed good read or want to give someone a book you are certain they are going to love, Those Who Wish Me Dead by Michael Koryta is that book.
