The Get Off by the great and original Christa Faust closes the Angel Dare triptych is a very satisfying way. However, to really enjoy this feminist thriller you do have to be familiar with the first two Angel Dare action-packed books Money Shot and Choke Hold otherwise you kind of miss out on how much of a bad ass Angel Dare is.

In The Get Off Angel Dare settles an old score but by doing so accidentally kills a pregnant LAPD officer. This sets the Croatian mob and the grief-stricken officer’s husband after her. After a TV style escape from the motel she is renting in exchange for services, the heroine finds her way to an old friend, Earl Wyman who tells her he can find her a safe refuge up north.  BUY at Amazon

This introduces Angel Dare to the world of bullfighters and a guy named Wash who takes her under his wing until they can get up north to a relative who lives off the grid with his wife who happens to be a midwife, something Christa Faust’s character will need.

It is only once arrived safely that things get really complicated and even more dangerous for Angel Dare who discovers the nice people helping her may not be as nice as they seem. Everyone has an agenda and nobody’s agenda includes making sure she is safe.

The final showdown is even more of a page turner than the rest of The Get Off and brings the adventures of Angel Dare to a blazing conclusion.

I still think Money Shot and the Angel Dare series would make a kick-ass action movie or two. I would pay good money to see it.

I highly recommend the Angel Dare series and Christa Faust as a writer.
