The Complete Third Season of Chuck Blu-ray might remind fans of light spy TV like Hart to Hart or Remington Steele though things do get a bit serious for a couple of episodes midway through. Chuck is the series fans rescued from cancellation after season two. It is now going on to season 4. In season three Chuck, a very awkward quasi secret agent gets to spread his wings. Chuck is a nerd. Even his pocket protector says so. Originally, Chuck accidentally downloaded all U.S. intelligence into his brain. He had to be protected and supervised by two real secret agents, Sarah and Casey. Season 3 opens with Chuck s brain containing an even more complex program that gives him special skills on demand. Demand does not always immediately meet supply
His relationship with Sarah is now much more complicated. This aspect of the story does get a bit tiresome. The more Chuck becomes a spy, the more he learns there is a personal price to that. This is especially true when he faces his final test.
The better episodes feature the Buy More staff. These include episode 5 and episode 9 where the staff unknowingly saves the day, their jobs, and the secret base. A personal favorite is the superb Chuck and the Honeymooners on disc 3.
The season finale is really complicated and takes three episodes to get to the end.
A new member joins team Bartowski midway in season 3. Scott Bakula, Christopher Lloyd, and Armand Assante show up as guest stars.
