Warner Home Video 2010

There is always a good explanation at the end of every Scooby-Do Where Are You? episode. It usually involves rubber masks, light tricks, invisible wires, and a villain who seemed to be a nice person at first. Any mystery fan worth his or her salt appreciates the solve. They will also very much enjoy Scooby-Doo Where Are You? The Complete Series. It features all 41 episodes from the three seasons on 8 DVD. Most important and coolest by far is this set comes in a way cool Mystery Machine that will be the pride and joy of any fan of the series.

Seasons one and two of this seventies cartoon aired in1969 and 1970 while season 3 aired in 1978 under the title The Scooby-Doo Show. Plot wise there are no real differences between the three seasons. The kids are travelling on a dark and stormy night, get lost, encounter a villain, Shaggy and Scooby-Do do most of the investigating, there is a complicated trap that usually backfires, and the kids solve the mystery and the bad guys are handed over to the cops.

The third season is much sillier when it comes to story line and events. For example Scooby-Doo shape shifts his tail to pick a lock. The solve is also explained-real-clearly-so-everyone-understands-it.

Everything is a little glossier in season three of Scooby-Doo Where Are You but the animation itself is not quite as good, especially in the details and facial expressions. The use of cut and paste is also much more obvious so sometimes the body angles or expressions are not quite right.

PC people will certainly object to the 3 heap big injuns in the first episode of season 3.

The 8 DVD for Scooby-Doo Where Are You? The Complete Series come in an accordion pack stored inside the Mystery Machine. Do be careful handling the pack as the sides are not glued very well and discs can clip out.
